XMLSpy Generation

The UIGenerateOption Collection Window provides a property section for each XMLSPY Generator Option that indicates the settings for:

• SchemaDetails to document, and
• SchemaTypes to include in the documentation.

SchemaDetails

To edit the SchemaDetails, the SchemaDetails Editor Window can be displayed by clicking on the button at the right end of the option field (labeled with an ellipsis '...'). The settings can be changed, which will be reflected in the property settings for the option in the collection window if the user accepts the changes made in the SchemaDetails Editor.

These settings correspond to the XMLSpy® Schema Documentation Generation dialog 'Details' section. The following details can be generated or ignored:

• Annotations,
• Attributes,
• Children,
• Diagram,
• Enumerations,
• Identity Constraints,
• Namespace,
• Patterns,
• Properties,
• Single Facets,
• Source Code,
• Type, and
• Used By.

The SchemaDetails Editor Window also provides an 'All' (include all details) option, and a 'None' (exclude all details), which provides an easy way to change the settings when working with incremental documentation sets. Note that 'None' is not an allowable option, as no documentation would effectively be generated.

SchemaTypes

To edit the SchemaTypes, the SchemaTypes Editor Window can be displayed by clicking on the button at the right end of the option field (labeled with an ellipsis '...'). These settings correspond to the XMLSpy® Schema Documentation Generation dialog 'Include' section. The following types can be generated or ignored:

• Attribute Groups,
• Complex Types,
• Global Elements,
• Groups,
• Local Elements,
• Redefines, and
• Simple Types.

Currently, 'Global Attributes' and 'Local Attributes' are included at all times. This provides backward compatibility to XMLSpy® 2006/SP1, in which these options did not exist. See XMLSpy Supported Versions for more information.
