Custom Generation

Custom Generation is implemented by plug-in dynamic link libraries (DLL's) that implement the IDocumentationModifier interface. Typically, they do not generate documentation content (XMLSPY Generator's are primarily used for this function), although a plug-in can add almost any desired functionality. Rather they are used to modify XMLSPY Generator'ed documentation, and to modify the Help File table-of-contents, indexing, and add additional HTML pages for different views of the documentation.

The standard application installation includes two plug-ins which can be directly applied:

• DefinitionGenerator (DefinitionGenerator.dll): This plug-in modifies the Help File Table-of-contents by adding ‘Definition’ and ‘Structure’ categories as main categories, and modifies the Index by adding sub-sections to each named index entry.
• PageHtmlFixup (PageHtmlFixup.dll): The image dimensions are removed in the diagram section using this plug-in. This fixes some image display problems in the web browser.
